Groundworks & Enabling Works

Groundworks & Enabling Works

SAWA undertakes groundwork, remediation and other enabling works for construction, drainage, road building and mid- to large-scale civil engineering projects in Malawi, Zambia and neighbouring countries.

Within our groundwork’s, SAWA covers all aspects of groundworks and we are able to deliver these on stand-alone or integrated projects. Within SAWA’s capabilities of carrying out demolition and civil engineering works is the specialist expertise to undertake a wide range of sub-structure works.

Remediation is a specialist division of SAWA, which helps provide remediation solutions for sites, to enable the development or manage environmental issues.

The various enabling works that the SAWA provides can also be incorporated with our demolition, groundworks and piling services to provide an integrated package solution; offering a potential significant programme and cost benefit to your project.

The key to our successful delivery of complex projects is the experienced team we employ, consisting of consultant engineers and site managers. We have a track record for consistently overcoming many challenges and have access to services and resources available from across the Group.

Plant and machinery operators work under the supervision of consultant engineers and experienced site managers. We are one of few contractors within the region to offer integrated engineering, construction and facilities management capabilities.

Our main objectives are to completely understand and prioritise our client’s aims and objectives. We aim to offer robust, innovative and transparent methods whilst we champion value engineering and ‘whole project’ solutions. We also deliver fully approved projects within industry leading standards of environmental monitoring and control.

Increasingly these projects involve more challenging deliverables that address the environmental, economic, cultural and social impacts of a development as countries seek better value for their local communities.
